Puerto Rico Hardwoods wins a Wood Innovation Grant from the United States Forestry Department (USDA) which enables it to acquire the island’s largest sawmill and drying kilns.
2023 — USDA Forest Service Wood Innovation Grant, approximately $175,000: Awarded to upgrade milling equipment, improve timber quality, and increase production capacity, strengthening Puerto Rico’s local hardwood industry.
2023 — DDEC Incentive Grant, $46,395: Supported the purchase of a 60 hp tractor and wood kiln to improve processing and operational efficiency.
2020 — Re-Grow Puerto Rico Grant, $149,500: Funded a Volvo excavator to improve log handling and woodyard operations.
2020 — Solar Energy Grant, $24,283: Supported expansion of the company’s solar energy system, reducing diesel dependence and energy costs.
