Synergetic Press sits within the ecosystem of the Institute and its other affiliates, creating a vibrant and flourishing activist environment. Through these projects, we have found ourselves in community with poets and theater-makers, researchers, thinkers, and changemakers.
For almost 40 years, the press has published unique and paradigm-shifting ideas in subjects such as ecology, sustainability, cultural studies, social justice, consciousness, and psychedelics that inspire both individual and social change. In part, the press arose to fill the void of information about these topics.
About Synergetic Press
The roots of the press extend back to the early activists who formed the Theater of All Possibilities in San Francisco in 1967 and the Institute of Ecotechnics (IE) in 1973, collectives that fused the values of the arts, ecology, and enterprise. The IE team conceived, built, and operated the initial work of Biosphere II to create a better understanding of our world and the possible explorations beyond it. Synergia Ranch, a regenerative farm and conference center established in 1969 outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico serves as home base for IE as well as the press, which also has offices in London, providing global reach and connection.
