Claudia Boulton

Deceased

1949-2021
Claudia was a gifted actress, accomplished theatre director, and cherished member of the Institute of Ecotechnics community. A natural storyteller with an infectious sense of humor, she combined artistic excellence with warmth, generosity, and an extraordinary ability to bring people together.

In the early 1990s, while fellow Institute member Chili Hawes managed Quanbun Downs cattle station in Western Australia, Claudia took responsibility for the day-to-day management of Lundonia House, overseeing its lodging and hospitality with her characteristic energy and care. Throughout her life, she wrote, produced, and directed numerous theatrical productions, including the unforgettable and delightfully irreverent CinderAlladin.

In her later years, Claudia developed her unique “table-top tragedies”—ingenious performances of Greek drama using everyday kitchen objects as puppets and props. Her inventive retelling of the Oresteia transformed ordinary household utensils into unforgettable characters, delighting audiences with wit, imagination, and theatrical brilliance.

Above all, Claudia was a true friend, remembered for her kindness, curiosity, and ability to connect with people from every walk of life. Her creativity, laughter, and generous spirit left an enduring mark on all who knew her.
