Klaus Eiberle is an experienced mariner, captain and longtime member of the Institute of Ecotechnics community. He has also worked with the Planetary Coral Reef Foundation, contributing his maritime knowledge and practical leadership to ocean research and ecological initiatives.

Klaus is best known for his enduring involvement with the Institute’s research vessel, the R/V Heraclitus. As a captain and senior member of the vessel’s team, he played an important role in its voyages, operations and continuing mission of ocean exploration, cultural exchange and planetary awareness.

He has also been deeply involved in the ambitious rebuilding of the Heraclitus, helping to carry forward the legacy of a vessel that has travelled the world’s oceans as a platform for scientific research, artistic exploration and intercultural collaboration.

Through his seamanship, leadership and long commitment to the Heraclitus, Klaus has made a significant contribution to the maritime work of the Institute of Ecotechnics and the Planetary Coral Reef Foundation.
